As the year draws to a close, the team at iMeta have been full of festive spirit!
Donning our Christmas jumpers for Save the Children, https://christmasjumperday.org/ we fought fiercely in another ‘Bake Off’. The pounds were piled on and all sort of goodies were consumed; a mammoth Maltesers Christmas pudding bomb, naked ginger garland cake, chocolate reindeer, Prosecco and Gin and Tonic cupcakes and a sausage wreath with mulled cranberry sauce (the winning combination).
To raise further funds, we also had a Scalextric race-off in the office, tackling a tight figure of eight in the boardroom – bringing out the speed junkies and competitive streak in the office! Racing Dave beat the rest of us in a hotly contested final.
It was money well spent – ‘Save the Children’ delivers essential healthcare, education, protection and food to millions of children around the world who are missing out on the basics. A £2 donation could help to pay for a blanket and hat to keep a child warm. It’s not too late to donate this Christmas. Please visit: https://christmasjumperday.org/
The team have made a real effort this year – In addition to raising money for ‘Save the Children,’ we also wanted to support the local community.
We also got involved in Mission Christmas https://planetradio.co.uk/wave-105/charity/events/wave-mission-christmas/
88,635 children are living in poverty across our area. For these families Christmas is a luxury they can’t afford. We bought Christmas presents for children and young people aged 0-18 years which then get distributed to disadvantaged local children to make their Christmas morning special.
In addition to this the staff bought and donated food to the local food bank. The generous staff in our office excelled themselves, and we collected a wide variety of provisions to assist those struggling within our community, particularly at this difficult time of year.
We really would like to thank everyone who took part this year, you have been amazing!
